About the project
Rockin' Bricks is a series of books about popular music, featuring the greatest artists as LEGO® minifigures.
The Volume 1 - Superstars, is a new genre of music encyclopaedia covering the most loved and best selling stars from the 50’s to date. It will please both music fans wanting to see their favorite artists in an unusual environment, and Lego® aficionados of all ages allowing them to flip through rock & pop legends represented in a state-of-the art form and discover recommended albums and songs.
Each artist covered in the series, has its own iconic picture and key album recreated in Lego® bricks and handcrafted minifigures. Artists facts, a suggested key album and song to discover provides underlying information to the reader.
As a father of two and as a music addict, I created last year an artwork were artists were portrayed as Lego® minifigures. The immediate interest and impressive curiosity of my kids wanting to know the artists names and songs made me grow an idea - create my home-made music minifigures - this is how Rockin’ Bricks came to life.
The Rockin' Bricks project is a constant evolving concept. "Superstars" is the first installement but other themes are in the pipeline.
What are the funds for?
Here are all the artists featured in the book
THE BEACH BOYS
THE ROLLING STONES
The funds are used to produce all the materials:
Book printing - 64 color pages - 135g/m2 - Eurobind Pro
Posters - A2 - 150g/m2
A3 posters - glossy 240g/m2
Postcards - A6 - 350g/m2
and, depending on the rewards ordered, create exclusive minifigures, limited edition boxes and exclusive frames.
There will also be a part of the budget allowed for proof-reading by a copywriter. The book is hopefully the first one in a series, the success of this campaign will allow the creation of other books (various themes are already selected).
Images are mockups, artworks are still work in progress, these are not the definitive artworks. Frame is not included with the poster.
