WHAT WILL BECOME OF ME

The book that transforms over time

About the project

WHAT WILL BECOME OF ME is a picture book with a very unique characteristic. It is made with two different inks (both magenta), one of which disappears 2-4 months after the book is taken out of its packaging.

The idea is not for the drawings to disappear, but rather for them to transform, allowing the observer to see how the book changes over time.

This goes hand in hand with the main themes of the book, which deals with the end, fleetingness and oblivion.

crowdfunding

It is fascinating to see how, even within such a relatively short period, things can change so much with the passage of time, life’s adventure is at once a process of evolution and transformation, and the traces it leaves in our memory before disappearing forever.

The final result is a fossil record full of visual poetry. An unsolved puzzle, like the very path of existence.

What are the funds for?

The goal is to cover the co-production expenses (ink manufacturing, screen printing, handmade binding, management, logistics, media, etc.) to put the project on paper. After 4 years of continuing research and experimentation with disappearing inks, it is finally time to share the experience with all those who would like to see the final result.

How does the crowdfunding campaign work?

Crowdfunding is a micro-fundraising system in which each person donates the amount they would like to contribute to the project in exchange for exclusive rewards. There is also a deadline for raising the project amount; if the campaign is successful, the project will be financed. However, if the minimum amount of funding is not reached, the project will not go ahead and everyone who donated will be reimbursed. It’s all or nothing.
