Mind Imperium

New album

About the project

MIND IMPERIUM is a melodic groove / death metal band from Lyon, formed by Nogh (guitars / vocals), Rob (guitars), Carol (bass guitar) and Julie (drums). Like a modern Prometheus, their music intertwining rage and melancholy and standing for the fire grows insidiously into every dark corner of the mind, releasing the blackness of the soul.

In late 2013, the band released a 5-track EP called Amongst the Ruins, which included a cover of Soilwork's Stabbing the Drama. Following this release, the band was allowed to play on many stages in France and gave several interviews to metal magazines / webzines.

All the songs of the new album are written, each of them giving additional depth to the unique dark universe of the band, finding inspirations in the writings of Robert W. Chambers, H.P. Lovecraft or Edgar Allan Poe.
The new album will contain 8 main tracks and some interludes, and will last approximatively 45 minutes. It will be recorded, mixed and mastered at the VAMACARA Studio (Loudblast, Dagoba, Bliss of Flesh, Otargos, ...).

Here is a short audio extract of a new song, Fragmented :

The band's universe does not rely exclusively on the music, but also on the audiovisual background that goes with it. Hence, the artwork is a key feature of the upcoming album, bringing additional insights to the songs' meaning.
The artwork will be revealed during the crowdfunding campaign.

We shot a video footage of a pre-production version of our newest song, Eventide. This tracks gives the overall tone of the upcoming album!

What are the funds for?

Mind Imperium is an independant band whose ambition is to provide a whole visual and sound universe. All our efforts, may they be manpower, technical or financial, are dedicated to the production of our new album. Every cent gathered while touring or selling merchandise is also injected in this project.

So far, we have been able to fund the recording of all tracks at the Batiskaf and Vamacara studios in Nantes. But we need more money to continue our journey, because producing a high quality album certainly costs a lot!

  • Mixing / mastering : 1500 €
  • Artwork : 200 €
  • Printing : 300 €
  • Promotion : 200 €
  • Total : 2200 €

If we are able to reach 2500 €, all of you who supportered its production will receive a digipack release instead of a boxed one!

Stay tune to our Facebook page to get our latest news and our upcoming studio updates.

Thank you all for the support!

About the project owner

Mind Imperium is a melodic groove / death metal band from Lyon formed in 2013. The current line-up is Nogh (vocals / guitars), Rob (guitars), Carol (bass guitar) and Julie (drums).

Like a modern Prometheus, the band stands out through its extremely strong visual universe, both on album and on stage, finding inspirations in the writings of Robert W. Chambers, Lovecraft or Poe, but also Freud, Jung and the infinite fears, passions and feelings of man. On stage, each member becomes the one who brings madness to this world, emphasized by their spectral and white-eyed appearance.

In late 2013, the band released a 5-track EP called Amongst the Ruins under the name My Imperium, which includes a cover of Soilwork's Stabbing the Drama. Following this release, the band was allowed to play on many stages in France and gave several interviews to metal magazines / webzines.

In 2017, the band changed its name for one matching more their concept and universe, and finished writing material for their upcoming album from which they shared a video extract with the song Eventide.

Metal Observer: Amongst the Ruins  (6,5/10) : « The band convinces with a balanced mixture of faster and powerful parts, heavily grooving mid-tempo sections and a few almost Metalcore-inspired melodic breaks that slow the pace down.”

Sons of Metal: Amongst the Ruins : « Headbanger friends, let’s be honest here. This EP is undeniably a real success and of great quality, born from a talented band to which we can only which the best of luck for the future.”

Pavillon 666: Amongst the Ruins (6,5/10) : "The singer delivers all his rage on Breed with strong, aggressive and ferocious vocals, blending perfectly with the rest of the band”

French Metal: Amongst the Ruins (16/20) : "Amongst The Ruins" is one real good discovery!”

Metal Chronique: Amongst the Ruins (7/10) : "Rise" mi-tempo riffs serve well the strong and accurate voice of the singer.
