Mima - Toilet paper with a mission 🌳

Made with bamboo, 50% of profits donated to plant trees, plastic-free

Trees are essential to our future, that’s a fact. They represent one of the largest, most cost-effective climate solutions available today according to scientists.

Unfortunately, 10 million trees are still flushed down every year for toilet paper. That's insane!

To do our part, we donate 50% of our profits to the NGO WeForest, working to regenerate healthy forests, protect biodiversity and improve the daily lives of more than a 1000 small-scale farmers by empowering them to intensively plant trees in the developing world.

WeForest is a non-profit organization created in 2009 by the amazing Marie-Noëlle Keijzer and that has deep experience and skill in implementing high impact forest landscape restoration projects across the globe and, in our case, in Zambia.🇿🇲

But, why is intervention needed there? 💭

The typical Miombo forest has, in the Copperbelt province more than anywhere else in Zambia, suffered from mining and charcoal production. ⛏️

WeForest trains farmers in restoring their small farms (1 or 2 ha on average) with indigenous and fruit trees. Farmers join the programme and report progress with their phones: all of this information is stored to monitor and report with GIS maps of the areas restored. 🛰️

WeForest - Zambia Luanshya - Report August 2019

To date, and thanks to your precious help, we’ve committed to planting 1250 trees with these tree-planting experts — and we’re just getting started, friends!

Our goal? Planting 1 million trees by 2025. Together. 🌱

And what if you were helping us out from your little happy place? 🚽
