Monday or Tuesday Never On Sunday “ is a Venezuelan roadmovie that features beautiful landscapes of the Latin American country: it starts in the mountainside of Mérida State and then moves to the arid region of the Falcón state peninsula.

This first film feature by Maruvi Leonett Villaquiran and Javier Martíntereso tells the story of two completely different women, Gregoria a young peasant from the Venezuelan Andes and Lucia, a frivolous middle-aged city dweller, forced by circumstances to travel together to reach their respective destinations. One will discover her past, the other will discover her present. Both discover the strength of love. 

The original script of  Monday or Tuesday Never On Sunday , written by Maruvi Leonett Villaquiran, had an important international tour. It was selected to participate in the Script Development Fund, of the International Films Festival of Amiens, in 2010, was part of the Iberoamerican Films Crossing Borders Film Festival of Guadalajara and  the Bolivia Lab, both in 2011. Represented Venezuela in the III Workshop of Projects of Central America and the Caribbean of Ibermedia, in Managua Nicaragua in 2014.

It stars the young actress Moyra Ángeles and the experienced actress Marian Valero. It also features the outstanding performance of Asdrúbal Meléndez, Juvel Vielma, Luis de Lima and Larisa Costas.

Marco Santaniello is the Director of Photography in “ Monday or Tuesday Never On Sunday “, He’s the genius behind the preciosity of the image of this film;  is a graduate of the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. In recent years he has been the director of Photography of feature films such as “Ovnis in Zacapa” by Marco Machado, “El Río Que Nos Atraviesa” by Manuela Blanco, and “Bárbara” by John Petrizzelli.

Marco Salaverría is the Sound Director“,At this moment, he is in the post-production creating the sound design; For him, this evoques the sound of time passing by on the road. Salaverría is a graduate of the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. The work of Salaverría has been recognized with the Platinum and Phoenix awards for the film "The Embrace of the Serpent".

lka Valdés Carrillo is the editor. Her sensitivity and expertise created the atmosphere that interprets both the story developed in the script and the proposal of the directors. Valdés graduated in Film Editing of the Higher Institute of Art, the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños, in Cuba. The extensive experience of Valdés ranges from the montage of shorts, medium and feature films, in categories of fiction,documentary and animation.

What are the funds for?

A couple of years ago we embarked on a film journey, we are about to arrive to our destination. To disembark, we only need one last thrust.

Monday or Tuesday Never On Sunday has as producing company the Cooperative Association Buena Hierba Audiovisual Productions and is conformed by:

Venezuelan writer and filmmaker. Graduate degree in Film in the the School of Arts of the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Postgraduate degree in Screenwriting in the Escuela Superior de Cinematografía y Audiovisual in Catalonia (ESCAC), Barcelona, Spain. Workshops in screenwriting, filmmaking, and cinematography in the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión, EICTV. She works as a Script Doctor in the Cross Lecture program in the CEntro Nacional Autónomo de Cinematografía in Venezuela. Teaches workshops in Screenwriting and creative writing. She directed the short film: Quemado y el umbral; and the documentary: Lunes al Mercado; Among others.

JAVIER MARTINTERESO                                                                                                                                     Venezuelan and Spanish Director and Production designer. Formed Fine Arts in Paris. He has an extended experience directing advertising and as a production designer for film and TV. Wrote and Directed the short film Por Esta Puerta No Entra.

JAVIER MENDOZA                                                                                                                                               Venezuelan producer graduated from the prestigious International Film and Television School EICTV. He has served as Producer and Director of various television programs, as well as Manager and Director of special broadcasts of the MINCI, Venezolana de televisión and Telesur. Since 2013, he has been a professor at the "Television, Business and Programming" and "Television Production" Workshops at the International Cinema and Television School of San Antonio de Los Baños, Cuba.
