Education as a weapon against poverty

Help us to educate 15 new children from 3 to 6 years old

About the project

Who are we? What is our mission?

Founded in 2014, the European Foundation for Cambodian Children (EFCC) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Phnom Penh. The main mission of  EFCC is to lead children living near landfill dumps towards a decent future. We want to support them at school in order to give them a better future. The center welcomes sixty children. In a safe and healthy environment. They have access to education, receive treatment and get a balanced meal. EFCC also provides some material assistance to their families and accommodate some of the students who live too far away.

« We are striving to give children a better future. We want them to be able to contribute to the reconstruction and the development of their country thanks to a comprehensive education.”
Jean Michel Fournier and Graham Moir, founders of EFCC.

Why do we need you today?

Our priority at EFCC is education. We never stop to work on the improvement and the development of our methods. We are convinced that the Montessori method is particularly adaptable to Cambodian children. We want to include this system in our center by opening a specific class in December. This class will welcome about ten children aged from 3 to 6 years. The training of our team will be made by a French professor, who is qualified and recognized for teaching this method of learning.

The objective is to develop this pedagogy by opening other Montessori classes and in this way, increase the number of young schoolchildren. Alongside, it is important to underline that by welcoming new young children this will allow mothers free time to work and earn more money for their family while their children are with us at school.

What are the funds for?

What is the Montessori method?

Initially, this project will involve ten new kids, then we want to expand it to welcome even more children. Currently we have the funding for teacher training, basic equipment and  initial wages/salaries. Unfortunately, that is not enough. To be able to establish this project, we need more pedagogic equipment and furniture adapted for young children. We are still short of 3000€.

-Tax deductions for your donations -

For donations above  20€, you will receive on January 2018 a donation receipt. It will provide you with 75% tax deduction. In other words, a 50€ donation will finally/eventually cost you around 12,50€.

All the EFCC team joins  with the children to thank you for your precious support!
