4 Days of Global Music lost in Paradise

  • Goulash Fest 2015 - Early Birds!

    Dear all!!

The crowdfunding campaign for 2015 is on!! http://www.ulule.com/goulash2015/

50€ Early birds are ticket are available, but not for long!

Thanks for your early support, you made it happen the first time and we hope to see you in our new venue this summer!!

  • 50% Funded in just 20 days!

50% in 20 days! Good job everyone! Enthusiasm both from the crowd and the makers of the scene keep growing and the project gets more concrete everyday. The crowd is going to be truly international, as current supporters come from diverse horizons such as Egypt, France, UK, Israel, Poland, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Hungary, or Romania. Goulash is going global!

LINE UP : We are currently in touch with new potential exciting headliners, who truly look forward to play at the festival. Fingers crossed that we'll raise enough too book those brilliant acts :

DJ SHOTNEZ (BALKAN BEAT BOX). Ori Kaplan, a.k.a Dj Shotnez, is a saxophonist from Israel who immigrated to the US in 1991, and toured with bands such as Firewater and Gogol Bordello before forming the Balkan Beat Box in 2004. When Ori gets behind the decks, he plays an explosive cocktail of Balkan Beats, Global Bass, Kuduro and Moombahton.

King Naat Veliov & THE ORIGINAL KOCANI ORKESTAR. The mythical Macedonian Romani Brass Band is among the funkiest exponents of the Balkan brass band style which is found across ex-Yugoslavia. With a powerful rhythm section, and passionate solos on sax, trumpet, clarinet, and accordion, they perform music descended from Ottoman Empire army bands. Lead by the one and only King Naat Veliov, no doubt that the brass band will set the crowd on fire in Komiza!

  • [dunkelbunt] @ Goulash Festival!

[dunkelbunt], one of the pioneer producer and most critically acclaimed artist on the scene, is on board for the Goulash Festival!! The wizzard, based in Vienna, pushes hard to make the festival happen, and even released an Exclusive [dunkelbunt] Mix for the Goulash Disko Festival, entirely made with his own productions and remixes. This is a present for you from the Mista, so please check it out!

    What they say :

“One of Europe’s great proponents of balkan dub” - The Age (Melbourne) ; “dunkelbunt made the crossover from electronics to Balkan sounds“ - New York Times (New York)

    What he says :

"The world offers a breathtaking plurality of music. It wouldn´t cross my mind to settle for only one style....When performing, I am travelling around the world together with my audience. Timelessly we are dancing through Countries and Continents, getting drunk with the infinite beauty of the music."

On Vis, it is for sure going to be unique : beside a regular set, he may surprise you with a morning session, or  run a workshop about spices blending, his second passion. The mindset is completely in phase with our vision of this Goulash gathering, so Mista, welcome on board!

More about [dunkelbunt] on his Website, Soundcloud and Facebook Page.

  • Kickstarting!

Enthusiasm around the festival is amazing to see!! Beside funding 20% of the target in 2 days and getting an impressive amount of 350 facebook likes on the project, we've been in touch with many artists, crews, dj's, cooks, and people who want to get involved in running the festival. Dj's from all around Europe contacted us, but also : a gypsy brass band from Macedonia, a circus from Holland, a mestizo band from Argentina, a polish folk band, a fanfare from Sicili, and even a Balkan Fitness crew :P

The project grows in a very organic way, and this crowdfunding financing gives another dimension to the festival. It feels very open source and collaborative, and we totally dig the approach :)

Let's hope the scene will get its festival up and running this summer!

This one is just to give you some more summer feel about Vis : it's one of the many wild beaches, close to the festival site :)

    Keep on rocking everyone!

    Yves, and the Goulash crew
