About the project
Fooducoin is a young Montreal-based company that delivers hot food by bicycle. We work exclusively with local restaurants, cafes and food shops. Fooducoin was born with the ambition to provide local foodies with a qualitative delivery service that is memorable and unique!
Fooducoin is a company that supports local enterprise: helping exemplary local cafés and restaurants that face a fierce competitive environment is a priority for us, and we dedicate ourselves to it with ❤!
Fooducoin, in a nutshell:
But now, we must GEAR UP 💪!
What are the funds for?
A kit for each bike courrier:
1 helmet - 1 insulated bag - 1 wind breaker - 1 sweater - 1 super "Foo" cape
We do not want to stop there, it's quite the contrary: we have big hopes!
$ 8000, equip our bikes to deliver a greater volume of food: - Additional side bags to be attached on the back of the bikes - Enable us to satisfy large starving groups 😀
$ 10,000, opening of the Fooducoin office: - A new workspace to meet your dearsest expectations - A physical storage space for our equipments
With YOU, we dream BIGGER! #Foogether
We want to boost our local economy, which is why we chose to buy from Quebec suppliers:
- New location: https://potloc.com/
- Winter bike equipment: http://velodidacte.com/
- Clothing: https://garneau.com/ca/en/
- Custom-made insulated bags: https://protogear.ca/
- Extra bags (bicycle bags): https://www.arkel-od.com
Throughout the campaign, we will realize numerous challenges that will depend on YOU !! Trust us, we will not hesitate to give our person, body and soul for the sake of this challenge!
Your participation will therefore also be a way for you to put us to the test... and we like that 😉! The first challenge will begin at the $2,000 threshold, see you there ✌️...
About the project owner
Fooducoin is primarily the story of an ambitious project led by individuals committed and determined to make a positive change in their neighborhood.
Fooducoin is the committed and gourmet delivery service of YOUR neighborhood!
At Fooducoin, we do not take our biker couriers lightly. These urban athletes are above all individuals who are passionate about cycling and determined to generate a positive impact on their community.
To cope with the realities of our industry and the challenges that so-called "uberisation" does to the worker status, Fooducoin initiated a process of reflection over several weeks with the actors involved in its community to build a model that reflects its core values. This model is articulated in 3 points:
- Governance: Like a cooperative, Fooducoin wishes to give a voice to each of its members;
- Training: Protecting courriers from road hazards;
- Community: Creation of a community of Fooducoin courriers and financing of actions that are beneficial to their neighborhood;
The protection of "self-employed" workers remains at the core of of our concerns, which is why we did set up a working group with OuiShare Québec to address these issues. With other Montreal entrepreneurs, Fooducoin intends to generate a positive impact through such concrete actions.
