"secrets under the banyan tree"
First EP of Dizzy Moon
About the project
Thanks to all of YOU I will soon be able to answer the question so often asked after my concerts: Do you have a CD ?YES. The title is "secrets under the banyan tree", recorded and mixed in the last few months by Stephan Ink in Liege, Belgium. I am very glad to present to you an original and ingenious packaging design conceived by Golnar, and inspired by the drawing of Renaud Helena.
Dizzy Moon at Grüner Salon, by Susann Howe, a friend photographer
On stage as Dizzy Moon, I have had the pleasure of sharing my music with you, Dear Public, playing unplugged, or with loop stations in apartments, hair salons, in a hospital, in a center for the disabled, in a church, in many bars, concert halls (like in the picture above at my concert in October at Grüner Salon in Berlin).
Now you will be able to discover my intimate songs, inspired by my story, my close friends and relatives, my travels, and by nature. This work was recorded in high quality, with subtle arrangements in a very relaxed atmosphere. Its has already been recorded, mixed and mastered. The next step, thanks toYOU : manufacturing and pressing !
Before listening to it, here are the 7 evocative titles of "secrets under the banyan tree" :

What are the funds for?
Dizzy Moon has been playing a lot the past two years (Festival de poche in Tours, Festival Polly and Bob, Mo´Beat, Grüner Salon in Berlin, Emmetrop in Bourges, l´International in Paris ...). The work of composition, the cello and the singing practice allow nice moments on stage.
There were also strong moments : the composition of the soundtrack in solo and with the guitarist Takeshi Nishimoto for the documentary "Toyong, l´entre saison" d´Aurélie Mandon, a residency in Lozere, the selection to Les Inouïs in Bourges, and lately the superb collaboration with Frank from Orange Ear for the video clip "dizzy moon around", shot last month, and very soon to be released during the campaign on ULULE !
The work is already recorded, mixed and mastered. The graphic design is in progress. Now, it is your turn ! I need your help to finance the manufacturing of the EP.

About the project owner
One cello & one voice. Dizzy Moon is a singular project that proposes an extremely sensitive combination, where the richness of the cello sounds mingle with Maryse's limpid and ethereal voice and bring a beautiful and intimate music. With songs mostly in English—sometimes in French—one lets oneself get carried away by the smooth and airy unity with folk and indie influencies. A rooted blues also tinkles & reveals our own feelings.
I have been a cellist since the age of nine. The need to sing came more than 20 years later. Mingling the singing with the sounds of the cello was a real surprise and gave me a lot of happiness. I like to share this happiness on stage and very soon you will be able to listen to this first EP in your own home.
Starting with a classical formation, I also took part of the great adventure of the band Poney Club. My music collaborations continue with Benjamin Riehm in Nos Envolées and with Claire Weidmann in Madine. Besides the cello my camera has became my artistic companion.
