About the project
The TKAFoundation (Tomorrow's Kaleidoscope of Artists or TKAF) is a huge supporter of the arts and embarks on contributing back to charities that encourage arts education. One of the front runners of the charities we support is AKOSIA, a non-profit organization that develops and facilitates creative projects for underprivileged children all over the world and we join them for their 3rd consecutive year of running this summer arts program in Ghana.
For the last two summers (2009 and 2010) the Akosia team was in ACCRA, GHANA working with the students from a school called Street Academy. Read about the Street Academy with the link below.
Their month long filmmaking program brought storytelling to life by having the kids write, direct, and produce two fifteen minute short films. It was a roaring success!
Check out www.akosia.org for more details.
Sankofa Pictures hopes through her commitment to TKAF, she can help impact the less fortunate and less encouraged in some way through something as magical as art and in turn, help eradicate poverty through arts education.
What are the funds for?
Our Ultimate goal : $10,000
To successfully run this program, the TKAFoundation needs to raise a minimum of $10,000 which will help go towards our flights, travel arrangements/requirements, accommodations as well as training materials for 6 weeks in Ghana.
We have an upcoming fundraiser event in May to help towards this and hope to be able to raise the rest with online donations and support.
