Carnet de Conservation

Meeting the Namib cheetahs

About the project

« Carnet de Conservation » (Conservation Diary) is a travel diary that offers insight into the daily life of wildlife research in Namibia. We follow Rubén into the desert to study and capture cheetahs with the Cheetah Research Project, a project of the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research.

At the crossroads of scientific research, conservation, and travel, this book is a tribute to the people who dedicate their lives to wildlife research. An adventure in watercolor paintings to describe the daily life in the field, the passion of wildlife and the desert beauty.

What are the funds for?

Your payment will go towards the publication of the book Carnet de Conservation, Meeting the Namib cheetahs. It will cover publication costs, website taxes (8%), shipping, and contributions costs.

A percentage of the proceeds will go to the Cheetah Research Project in order to contribute to Namibian cheetah research and conservation.

I really appreciate this support, as it will allow me to expand this series and share about other research and conservation projects.

About the project owner

I am a veterinarian and researcher, and I am very fond of traveling and wildlife. I have always wanted to combine science, creativity, and education. After two years in Laos as an elephant veterinarian, earning a Masters of Science in the USA (on elephants too), and many encounters with incredibly passionate people, I was inspired to tell and illustrate the story of those who dedicate their lives to conservation. This book is the first of this project, and I hope there are many more to follow !
