I think this is a crucial initiative. Countries like Mali have raw musical talent in abundance. What's lacking is the production, management and marketing know-how to get that talent onto a world stage, without having to sub-contract to Europeans. I dream of seeing a Malian band, recorded in Mali, managed by Malians, surrounded by a Malian tech team, playing in London, Paris, Seattle, Tokyo etc etc. This kind of initiative is an important step towards that.
