Synopsis:
Paris 1863, Victorine Meurent is 16 years of age, she goes to her lover, a painter for whom she is also the muse...
This 5 minute fiction retraces the moments which preceed the creation of the famous painting Olympia by Edouard Manet. This painting was scandalous at the time because Manet portrayed his mistress aged 16, completely naked, which opposed the tarditional idealisation of nude partraits of the period.
The film brings this painting to life and takes interest in the artistic and amorous relationship which links Manet to Victorine. But it centers above all on the character of Victorine, and to the sentimental awakening of this adolescent from the XIX century.
The filming is previewed for the end of June.
What are the funds for?
The funding will enable us to produce a film of the highest quality as it will be principally used to pay for the set and costumes (Victorine in jeans? Impossible!!!)
My technical team works voluntarily, so it is even more important for me to take proper care of them.
The team consists of:
1 Directors assistant, Anne Balança
1 Script writer, Coralie Grandvallet
2 x Head operator / editor Rudy E Silva and Nicolas Desmet,
1 Sound Engineer, Dimitri Denat
1 Sound assistant, Gabriel Espiga
1 Hair and make up artist, Olivia Goulart
1 Head of the production team Vincent Drozdowski
1 Head costume and set designer Cécile DiSalvo
and 3 actors.
We have to transport and feed everyone!
Finally, the funding will be used for the creation of the DVD and to send the film to various film festivals.
About the project owner
The idea of the script came to me a year ago, but the adventure of a film requires a lot of time and funding which is why I haven't been able to launch the project yet.
This film is really close to my heart. I am directing it with mostly friends and friends from my studies at BTS audiovisuel.
