About
The Great Paper Adventure (TGPA), is a fun Shoot Them Up in 2D. The game doesn’t attempt in any way to revisit the Shmup genre, but rather aims to entertain the player.
It portrays a little fellow returning home in a boat, who will have to make his way though levels full of enemies. Fortunately an arsenal of weapons will be there to assist.
The graphics are created from real drawings, scanned and then coloured, and Spintronic chiptune music lends a retro and original feel to the game.
The game is previewed on PC and Xbox 360 (Xbox Live Indie Game), thanks to Microsoft’s XNA technology.
A demo is already available on PC, on the game’s official site:
->http://www.thegreatpaperadventure.com
The game is currently in a test phase, we have finished the development and the release shouldn’t be too long (at least on PC, on Xbox it has to be validated).
What are the funds for?
We are very satisfied with our game and we would like to mark the occasion by proposing a CD version, which will be a collector’s item, a souvenir of this project on our shelves.
As the pressing of CDs is expensive, and because many people have informed me of their interest in buying a material version of the game, we are trying to raise funds for the pressing of the CDs :)
We would like to press 150 CDs, with a coloured booklet, a thin plastic case and cellophane wrapping. We would offer 90 samples of them “for sale”, at 5€ each via the donations on our Ulule page.
The CDs would be ordered on the MPO site at about 320€, that’s 2€ for the CD and taking into account there will be a 1-2€ charge for p&p for each reward CD, and the rest of the funding could possibly prolong the XNA (xbox) license.
About the project owner
I am Damien, student of Master 2 information technology at the University of Rennes. I am the founder of TGPA and its principal programmer.
