Bourbon Kid - The Book Of Death Trailer

As big fans of the best selling trylogy of the adventures of Bourbon Kid we have the chance to be in contact with the author, we are working on a promotional-clip for the fourth volume, which will come out in France on the 26^th of April.

Due to unexpected circumstances, our project has unfortunately taken on dimensions that go beyond the scope of our initial budget of 3000 € for production and post-production.

Synopsis

The story of Bourbon Kid unfolds in 4 volumes, written by an anonymous author who’s pseudonym is Bourbon Kid, the name of the protagonist. Don Murphy (from the American production company Angry Films : Natural Born Killers, Transformers 1,2,3) has bought the rights for the film adaptation.

• The Book with no Name, released in 2007
• The Eye of the Moon, released in 2008
• The Devil’s Graveyard, released in 2010
• The Book of Death, released in April 2012 (in France only).

“The Book with no Name”, the first volume of the trilogy, was first diffused on the Internet, later on it became one of the first cult-books of the new century. With this eccentric universe, an unknown author gave us for the first time a literary equivalent to the films of Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez.

The story takes place in Santa Mondega, a small city in South America, which has become the stomping point for vampires, miscreants and evildoers of all sorts. Different characters mingle and mix, but everyone has just one goal: save their own life.

Synopsis of the forth volume, “the book of death”, coming out on the 26 of April:

It would surely be better for you if no one ever puts your name down in the “book of death”. Otherwise, you would very quickly find yourself in a position where it is time to make your last wishes. And of course, it incites the appetite of certain people, usually not the ones with the best intentions. This explains why the owner of the book, the unfortunate Sanchez, runs into quite some trouble, while he himself believes the book to be a simple jotter.

Bourbon Kid, the most ruthless killer the world has ever seen, is officially dead and should peacefully spend his days at the side of his first love Beth, whom he finally found back. His new identity needs to stay under cover in order to avoid his numerous victims and even more numerous enemies join forces to plot vengeance.

But then Beth is kidnapped and Bourbon Kid turns out to be the only one who is able to save Santa Mondega from slaughter. There is only one solution: Bourbon Kid has to rise from death, to be wilder than ever and without mercy.

We are two behind this project: Sophie Montemagni and Jacques Safarian, both passionate for the cinema in its most eccentric forms and surrounded by people who help us to produce our videos.

The idea is to join our competences in film and graphics in order to produce original content. In 2011, we took part in a contest organized by O’Mara Books with our teaser on the first three volumes of the adventures of the Bourbon Kid.

Since we won the competition and created a couple of graphics promoting our Video, we gained the support of the author and his fans for a series of promotionnal products with the hero of the series, the Bourbon Kid.

With the funds raised by those sales of additional products, we wanted to finance our future productions. Unfortunately, taking into account the dimensions of the project and the unforeseen circumstances, we were not able to earn enough with those sales.

Producing a short film with monsters like werewolves, zombies, vampires dressed up as clowns and other colourful characters becomes quite tricky when you don’t have the means of a big production company.
