Real Life Super Heroes

The book by Pierre-Elie de Pibrac and Serious Publishing

About

Real Life Super Heroes, the book!

Hell Hound, Zetaman, Master Legend, Captain Prospect, Mutinous Angel… Whether they are acting alone or in a group, they all have their own costumes, a specific territory and a type of intervention for their communities, mainly helping the homeless, the addicts or outcasts in general.

For the project REAL LIFE SUPER HEROES (RLSH), initiated by the photographer Pierre-Elie de Pibrac in 2010, Serious Publishing will publish in May a beautiful book called Real Life Super Heroes.

This book traces the adventure experienced by the photographer Pierre-Elie de Pibrac who met, at the heart of the city, superheroes of another kind during his trip in the United States in June, July and August 2010. This book tries to capture a growing phenomenon, the spirit of heroes to conquer the world …

Let's go back in time: 1933, Superman was born. 1939, Batman. 1940, Flash. 1961, The Fantastic Four. 1986, The Watchmen… The list goes on and on with paper heroes that were born on American comics! Then adapted to animated series, toys, TV shows or even movies. And now the ultimate incarnation of these fictional characters are wandering American cities, all in muscles and all dressed up!

The photographer Pierre-Elie de Pibrac shared the adventures of these new heroes, the Real Life Super Heroes (RLSH) in New York, Washington, Los Angeles, but also in Portland, Chicago, Milwaukee and smaller cities like Jackson, Orlando Mountain View, or San Diego which all have their local super hero...

Hell Hound, Zetaman, Master Legend, Captain Prospect, Mutinous Angel… Whether they are acting alone or in a group, they all have their own costumes, a specific territory and a type of intervention for their communities, mainly helping the homeless, the addicts or outcasts in general.

They are a 100% commited to their "political" mission. Each in is own way, according to their schedules and family obligations. Because for most of these daily heroes, their colleagues and friends don't know about these activities.
