About
The Festival Regional F5: Updating the roots needs your support for its second edition, which will take place on a Sunday afternoon at the Parque das Ruínas, a great place in Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro.
Our intention is to diffuse the Brazilian regional culture through dance, music, decoration, typical dishes and a visual arts exhibition. Those are the ingredients of this event: the DJ plays the best of the Brazilian popular music and while the sun goes down the group Afro em Nós, from the association Nós do Morro, at the Vidigal's favela, delights the public with Afro-Brazilian rhythms (see the video below). And during the whole event, there will be an exposition of paintings, sale of cachaça (typical alcoholic drink made from sugarcane), baked corn, acarajé, tapioca, and many other typical elements from the Brazilian gastronomy.
The event will be free-entry and open to all kinds of public with all the “carioca” energy!

What are the funds for?
To make this festival, we need to pay the dance group and the DJ (R$1.000), and the production team (R$1.00). We also need to rent the sound equipment (R$500), the promotional material (R$350), the transportation for the group and production expenses on the day (R$250).
So, we need a total of R$3.350.
Important:If we don't reach the minimum amount during the fundraisung period, your pledge will not be charged, and so the event will not happen...
About the project owner
Hi, nice to meet you, my name is Liliane but you can call me DJ Lili.
I entered this DJ thing about a year ago, but I have been passionate about music for a long long time. I've already played transverse flute at the Flutists Pro-Artassociation, and I have also been part of Robertinho da Silva's Percussion Orchestra.
But it was when I moved to Lisbon that I bought my first DJ gadget, that connected to a laptop becomes a real Disk-Jockey! Then I started playing at parties at friend's houses and after that I never stopped. Back to Rio, I played at weddings, birthdays and other parties, until I decided to create my own party: Regional F5: Updating the roots.
I had a homonym show at the community radio Pop Goiaba, where I used to play the regional music that we could not find at the mainstream radios. From my trips around the country I got more music than photos, and with this culture baggage I jumped from the radio show to the party.
I'm 24 years old, I recently finished a journalism and I'm a big fan of Brazilian popular culture, especially its music.

Here's a little bit of what I play:
