Upon returning home one winter evening near Christmas, Clara, a young girl of 12, finds four oranges, lined up beneath a lampost. Intrigued, she looks around, but no one appears in the neighbourhood. A little unsure, she continued home, leaving the oranges behind her.
However, the following morning, she is yet again confronted with the coloured fruits. Clara bends down to pick up an orange...
This story of the 4 oranges may seem strange, but it is in fact true. This funny anecdote happened to Alexandra two years ago, and inspired the idea for this film: what could have happened had Alexandra touched one of the oranges?
Passionate about legends and fantasy stories, we wanted to create a parallel universe in which Clara could live an exciting adventure, full of improbable meetings which would change her forever.
It took a year to create this extraordinary journey...And to see the legendary characters appear in this marvellous world: the pirate Lady Rachke, the vagabond Oluf, the fiendish Hédéra and those whose destiny is linked to the oranges.
The story of Clara and these fascinating fruits is packed with references to popular tales in literature: from Charles Perrault to Anderson, the brothers Grimm, as well as German romantic poetry and quest adventure films which enchanted our childhood (Spielberg's Hook, R.Howard's Willow...)
We need another year to meet numerous people and develop the project, hold castings, prepare the filming and make a teaser for the film (this should be ready next month).
We have received support from a large group of technicians and comedians to arrive at where we are today, thanks again to all of you!
Now the editing is almost complete, the special effects have begun, and so have the creation of music and sound effects.
There still remains a lot of work to do, and the preview should be out at the end of February.

What are the funds for?
Up 'till now we have funded this project entirely ourselves with the little means we have available, from materials and the production department to costumes, jewellery and all accessories.
When we started this project we didn't think it would be quite as costly...But the result thus far has been so successful that we want to push it even further.
Except that our funds have been completely drained...
Your support could enable us to employ a graphic designer to help with the special effects, and an orchestra to play the beautiful scores of this great adventure composed by Yann Ciennick.
We already have partners who enabled us to do a promotional shooting and poster of the film (by the talented photographer Chloé Jacquet), and to rent some cinema screens in Paris and Lyon for the release of the film.

About the project owner
We are two directors, editors and scriptwriters of 20 and 23 years old. We have not yet finished our studies, but that doesn't stop us from undertaking other projects!
Four Oranges in a Line (Quatre Oranges Alignées) is, up 'till now, our most ambitious project and one which we want to put into place to ensure a real existence.
Alongside this film, we have directed some shorts and music clips as well as a long film 3 years ago.
