About

A 100% rock’n roll gore short-film ! The first video of the band Papa Legba: “My Sun Will Come”.

If you like rock, special effects, blood and you don't get freaked out behind your screen at the first scalpel chop, then this project is yours! A sarcastic scenario with an ironical side that makes the importance of trepassing side go down... Enjoy!

Pitch:

Four lobotomized patients are locked up in a dark and mortuary-like Laboratory, with a sexy but sadistic nurse. Guided by precise instructions, she tortures them methodically to skin and bone, the bloody insides coming out, they are still alive. From these gory and violent torments appears a music band, half man half machine, making one with his instruments. Who's manipulating them? This is what reveals the closing, surprising and voluntarily ironic.

The story described by the director:

The director:

Sébastien CIRADE, 41 years old, has been around all of the film industry work before starting directing in 1999 his very first short-film “Erreur d’Aiguillage” (Wrong Switching). He’s a advertising director since 2000 for television. He received a Golden Epica for advertising in march: Here

His cinematic influences: ‘I’m a huge fan of all the Cronenberg movies, my preference going towards his very first ones (Scanners, Videodrome, etc...). I also love the first Peter Jackson movies, I admire the talent when it comes to the directing of a Kubrik, a Lynch or even a Gaspar Noé. I adore zombie movies, horror shows such as Dead Set, which I think is a big success. The first “Saw”, or some horror and anguish Japanese movies (especially the ones by Kiyoshi Kurosawa)...”

The director’s first meeting:

The music:

Our name is full of mysticism , Papa Legba, refers to the Gardian of the border between the world of the living and the dead in Haiti, it became a rock band in 2008. The soul brothers Tof (voice and guitar) and Landser (voice and guitar) meet blood brothers Mato (Bass) and Drumstik (drums). Connections appear and influences combine, the bluesmen Crossroads guitarists meet with the sacrosanct of groove important for the rhythm.
Together they give birth to powerful and uncompromising rock titles, pur rock’n’roll, which draws from the sweet and energy of the 70’s. For a neo-vintage and amazingly authentic replaying.
