Based in Angers, Nido, a place to gather and discuss, will open different platforms for parents who want to accompany their children with the Montessori education. I hope to support them in their montessori adventure and give them the necessary keys to put it into practise.

THE MONTESSORI EDUCATION

The child of today will be the adult of tomorrow said Maria Montessori. And what adult would we like him to be? The Montessori education strives to construct conscious, independent and responsable adults, and begins from birth and even before.

When my first child was borm, I didn't ask myself any questions about education, doing as I thought it was right and in adequacy with my ideas.But I kept an open mind, being curious. I read "L'enfant" from Maria Montessori, and that book has changed may life ! I was consolidated in most of my choices, I was upset by numerous ideas so just right and I wanted to know more about this method.

The Montessori education for babies is a philosophy of life with the child, an alternative way to look at your child, with an attitude of respect, understanding, observation, gentleness, a subtle mix of reserve and guidance. Maria Montessori created the Nido to welcome the babies and toddlers in an atmosphere answering their needs of activity and proposing an adapted material.

MY PROJECT : NIDO

In order to share my experience and to contribute to the circulation of this education, I want to create a place for parents to come to the École Montessori d'Angers (opening September 2011) and enable them to begin the Montessori education from the birth of their babies.

I see this place as a help centre for parents. Somewhere they can come to discover ideas, discuss, recharge their batteries and advance their child's education.

Nido will offer workshops which deal with education via different themes:
-Welcoming the newborn
-The ambiance at home
-The adult's attitude
-Daily life with the whild
-The value of silence
-Limits and interdictions

Nido is a Enseignement Montessori Aujourd’hui (EMA) project.

What are the funds for?

I need funding to:

- buy materials, furnishings and objects to create a friendly ambiance: 1500 €

- buy education manuals: 400 €

- rent rooms for a few months, as the project begins : 400 €

Total : 2 300 €

About the project owner

I am a mother of 2 little girls, who lead me to ask myself questions about education and motherhood. After reading and discussing with others, I came accross the Maria Montessori education. Her writings had a revelationary effect on me.

I participated in the creation of the company (EMA : Enseignement Montessori Aujourd'hui) in July 2010. The association aims to circulate the Montessori education. We have several projects, of which Nido is at the forefront: the opening of a Montessori school which can welcome children from 3 to 12 years of age.

I decided to create a blog to share my experiences of this form of education: «Le journal de Liv et Émy». Today my blog reaches an average of 400 views per day.
