Mimo The Maker: 1st album

Mimo the Maker is the solo project of Jean Michel "Mitch" Pires who make his first album on the label Artisans du Disque.

Member of NLF3, The Married Monk, or Headphone, he was also collaborator of Sébastien Schuller, Don Nino, Houellebecq, Bed, Bosco, Prototypes, Mendelson, Charlie O trio, Manuel Bienvenu, Yann Tiersen ...

                  

Through this new project, Mimo The Maker delivers today new compositions to his audience in which he experimented with new and personal sounds.

Combining electro sounds, or noisy guitars and rough instruments, he devised a creation where the minimalist instrumentation and voice full of effects for inviting the listener into a dark world and chaotic atmosphere but supported by melodic phrases.

Some references and influences: Beastie Boys, Odd Future, Clouddead, Can, Meshuggah or Gill Scott Heron.

To realize his project, he appealed to musicians he met for several years as guests but remains the only composer of this album.

Out on the label Artisans du Disque takes a willingness to fix the 10 original songs from that album on a support also unusual: a graphical extension of the musical universe of Mimo .

Mimo is a project led by two entitées engaged and eager to create quality music but also to propose an original physical object to the public and not a basic CD. This combination requires a unique and special financial support for an initiative that goes beyond a simple disk output.

We financed the recording and mixing the album which is done now.

To go through with our approach, we want to pay particular attention to the materialization of the album: it starts with the fixation on a physical medium, custom designed (artwork, packaging concept and orginal manufacturing) but also by the creation of the first music video.

 

WHY THIS FUNDING AND ULULE

We chose to use the site again Ulule, which allows the public to make a contribution to its possibilities.

Ulule hosts this project that if the goal is not reached, donors will not be charged and will recover their money.
