In the woodland thought becomes place, the breath of man in harmony with the heartbeat of nature in a slow, silent dialogue. One halts to listen, to rediscover the mystery: lengthy seconds exposed on film, lengthy minutes to bring them back to life.
Slow dialogue is the photographic project of four different photographers: Stefano Anceschi, Gabriella Becchi, Ian Gazzotti and Barbara Leoni. The 30 images were all shot together in the same day and place (the dreamlike setting of the Boschi di Carrega), chosen together and printed together; this is not a collective of four different works, but a single work by four different authors; every image is by any of us, and by all of us.
The exhibit will be first shown during the 2011 edition of Fotografia Europea in Reggio Emilia, Italy, hosted by the local University. The specific goal of this project is to fund the print of a catalogue for the exhibit.

Nel bosco il pensiero diventa luogo, il respiro dell’uomo in armonia con il battito della natura in una lenta, silenziosa conversazione. Ci si ferma ad ascoltare, a riscoprire il mistero: lunghi secondi impressi sulla pellicola, lunghi minuti per riportarli in vita.
Lenta conversazione è il progetto fotografico di quattro diversi fotografi: Stefano Anceschi, Gabriella Becchi, Ian Gazzotti e Barbara Leoni. Le 30 immagini sono state scattate insieme nello stesso posto (l'onirico scenario dei boschi di Carrega) e alla stessa data, sono state scelte insieme, e sono state stampate insieme. Non è una collettiva di quattro lavori, ma un lavoro unico con quattro autori; ogni immagine è di ognuno di noi e di tutti noi.
La mostra sarà allestita per la prima volta durante l'edizione 2011 di Fotografia Europea a Reggio Emilia, ospitata nei locali dell'Università locale. L'obbiettivo specifico di questo progetto è finanziare la stampa di un catalogo per la mostra.

400 euros are needed for a high-resolution scan of the prints
1400 euros will pay a print of 500 catalogues of the exhibit,
Anything more we get will be used to cover previous expenses (paper, acids, frames, passepartouts, etc.) and/or to fully cover the price of the catalogues.

About the project owner
We are four photographers from Reggio Emilia, Italy, members of the REfoto photography society. We have been working together for the last few years, keeping the love for old-style photography alive, shooting on film and printing by hand in the dark room.
Though we have had previous exhibits together, this is the first time we present a single work by multiple authors.
Siamo quattro fotografi di Reggio Emilia, membri dell'associazione fotografica REfoto. Lavoriamo insieme da alcuni anni, mantenendo in vita la passione per la fotografia vecchio stile, scattando su pellicola e stampando a mano in camera oscura.
Abbiamo precedentemente esposto insieme in opere collettive, ma questa è la prima volta che presentiamo un lavoro unico a più mani.
