Williamstheconqueror'syouth is a short film of historical adventures. The film goes through the adventures of young William, as he escapes the Norman barons' wrath, who saw « the bastard » as clearly unworthy of the title of duke. He was to find his viking origins in his long tour through Normandy and that was to instill in him his conquerous dimension.
What are the funds for?
This short film will imply the use of a fairly large team as well as many natural sceneries (authentic fortifies villa, flooded cave, castle, forest, …), costumes an d digital effects. The film has great ambitions, in its subject as well as its structure. The money would allow the shooting of the film in the best conditions and hold the visual challenge.
The money will be used to rent the shooting equipment (2 weeks), for the expenses of the technical team, the actors and the crowd artists.
It would also serves in the design of the accessories and historical costumes. The stronger the support given to this film, the higher the final quality of the equipment and costumes will be.
About the project owner
Fabien Drugeon, a graduate from the FEMIS school, directs his end of studies film « Fragments », which stands as an original production in the standard line of films from the school. A film of adventures in two parts, the fist one situated in the 9th century, the second part in the 19th century, « Fragments » was entirely shot in Normandy (Caen and Granville).
In parallel with his activity as a director of photography, ha was to direct in 2010 a medieval film, in the fantastic genre, « Fyra », produced by Delta-T Production and with the contribution of the company « Les Dragons de Fers ».
« Les Films du Cartel », an association created in Caen five years ago, convincingly manage to display its energy, its talent and a boldness in all his artistic creations : in charge of the web-serie « Saltarello », main actor in the film « Caen seen by ... » ans a producer of « The Famiglia Minestrone » (shot during the « Grande Ripresa », for the 50th anniversary of the cinema « Lux »). Today, in 2011, the association counts more than 40 members and still harbours great long term projects.
