About

For the record, Fist My Brain initially started off as a Facebook page, created in 2010 by a group of students and professionals. It was designed in order to exchange and share artistic references (links, protfolios, blogs, videos etc.). After over 1000 posts in less than 12 months, we thought it was necessary to create an annual report which would archive on paper what was becoming a wealth of references. Among these 1000 posts, 100 artists were selected and so was created the graphic report Fist My Brain, presented below.

FIST MY BRAIN is a collaborative work that was made as a single copy in June 2011, as part of a personal project.

It is an annual report gathering artistic references, "the 100 best graphic designers of the year 2011".

Each page, presented as a detachable sheet, is meant to present
one of the selected artists. It includes a biography, practical information (address, phone number, mail and website) and 3 images from their portfolio.

The 208 pages prototype can be seen here:

Many blogs are already talking about the bookand after many copies requests, we descided we wanted to actually publish it, in order to share it as widely as possible.

What are the funds for?

Such a project requires funding, especially due to the high costs of printing and manufacturing (paper, ink, printing, binding).

The asking price is the sum from which it would be possible to produce several copies.

90% of this amount will be paid to the company that will handle the production, the rest will be used for packaging and distribution.

They will be firstly be distributed to the contributors and the featured artists.

Afterwards, the remaining stock will be put up for sale. (Web or stores)

REWARDS:

- Copies of VVV magazine

- Silk-printed poster 50x70cm ( unframed )

About the project owner

We are a pair of graphic designersgraduates of the ECV school in Paris.

We created our studio at the end of our studiesyou can see our work here

We tend to highlight the editorial support through our personal projectsOur work is recognized among major artists in the graphic design sector.

For example, this article in Etapes

Despite our best efforts and our considerable investment, we find it difficult, even impossible to fully fund a project of this magnitude.

That is why we would appreciate any help given to us  in order to succeed the publishing of this project, which is very dear to us.
