Fresh news about the Electree
Posted by vivien_muller on Feb. 9, 2012, midnightHello Early Birds,
Please forigve us for our silence during the month of January.
There has been quite some intense activity in January at the production plant. Here are the latest news.
After validation of all the technical pieces by Vivien Muller, the plant has prepared the tools and the cast to launch the production.
This a key step in the production which allowed to produce the final complete prototype. We will have pictures of the complete prototype to show you very soon. This will allow to launch the certification process which is necessary to be able to sell the Electree. This process takes between 7 and 15 days.
After certification, the green light is given for the final production which can be quite fast considering that this first batch of production is an exclusive production in small quantity compared to the capacity of the plant we are working with.
We are still on the right track timewise but we'd rather wait that the certification process is done before giving you more exact delivery dates.
Each of you should have received its numbered certificate of authenticity by now. If it is not the case, please send us a message through Ulule such that we make sure to send you a new certificate with your Electree.
You can see below a 3 dimensional image of the inside of the Electree packaging. Vivien Muller has worked on the packaging to make it as practical as possible such that all the pieces can be included in a small volume.

We would like to ask all the Early Birds for their help. We are currently working on the instructions for use of the Electree. Vivien Muller suggests several pictograms to explain the use of the Electree and we would like your point of view.
You can see below 7 propositions for this instruction for use.
The pictogram must explain the following:
It is necessary to leave the Electree fo 12 hours minimum under the sun to be able to recharge a cell phone (then it takes 1 hour to recharge the phone). It is necessary to leave the Electree for 100 hours minimum under the sun to be able to recharge an iPad (then it takes 4 hours to recharge the iPad ). It is necessary to leave the Electree for 120 hours minimum under the sun to to recharge fully the Electree battery and then be able to recharge several cell phones.
Let us know which pictogram is the clearest one to understand.

We thank you again for your support

Comments:
so that means you can't recharge something like an ipad each night?
I would vote for the 3rd one because the writing inside the bubble is too tiny to see comfortably.
Option 3 or 7 would be the best.
I have a question, based on the example of the cellphone.
After 12 hours of sunlight, and charging my cellphone to full power. Does that mean that the electree is totally drained of its battery power and cannot charge my cellphone again till after a repeated 12 hr cycle? I know that is what your current update seems to infer.
I would just like to clarify that please. Thanks :)
I like Nr.7.
I also wondered about your final shipping mode. We all get the electree with free shipping. Please make sure that this also means import tax and duty free. This is more complex than you might think as you also have customers from outside EU.
Thanks!
Option 7 sounds for me the most appropriate.
To back-up your decision, I would suggest that you show the option 7 (only) to some people who haven't read your explanation and who haven't seen the other options. Check what their understanding will be.
#7 :)
I think 2 or 7 are the most explanatory and understandable pictures.
I'm getting more and more excited about the Electree!
I personally vote for Option 3 or 7, depending on the size of the instruction, if the size of the instruction is as displayed i prefer option 3 due to the small hours numbers in option 7.
Number 3 or 7.
La n°7 est très simple et compréhensible !
Bravo pour le packaging optimisé !
Il ne manque plus qu'à attendre ;-)
Pour moi la 3 - Simple fluide et zen.
A bientot
Proposition 7
