Praise the Lord and pass the peanut sauce!
Posted by shanadavidgmailcom on Oct. 7, 2011, 2:46 p.m.Dear Everyone,
Well, you did it. You took your city's entertainment options into
your own hands by committing to buy a few tickets to a great new movie
theatre. Or you threw in some cash toward a good cause, wishing us
luck in our venture as new business owners in an economy where traditional
funding can be hard to come by. Sun-Ray Cinema at the 5 Points Theatre
will be funded because you dug into your own pockets in a way that
inspired those with deeper pockets to take notice of our project.
For that, and for your incredible support, we thank you. And breathe
a sigh of relief.
Rewards will be forthcoming as materials are created for our new
business. You can help that process move smoothly by keeping an eye out for an email from Ulule confirming the end of this campaign and for another one on Monday October 10th from Paypal letting you know your account will be debited. If you see the name "SEMIO" don't worry, that's Ulule's publisher. If you have any problems at all don't hesitate to get in touch.
After a brief shutdown for construction (and our fancy
catered soft opening, you lucky $250+ contributors) the cinema will
reopen under new leadership, hopefully just in time for that Tattooed
Dragongirl film to be enjoyed on a screen that's 50% bigger, in a
chair that's 100% comfier and -- yes-- with a glass of wine in hand.
See you at the movies.
Love,
Tim and Shana

European Street Cafe and Intuition Ale Taproom are offering a free short draft beer with a sponsorship at this level. Just print out your confirmation from Ulule and present it to your friendly bartender. That's before you even get charged $25, you know? Also Susan Davis of Tania's Hair Studio (our favorite stylist) is giving free cuts and other discounts to supporters.
Comic Book author Peter David is donating original, autographed comic art from his stories to sponsors at this level. Visit (http://www.peterdavid.net/index.php/2011/09/08/shanas-attempt-to-refurbish-a-movie-theater/) for more info
Also if you're considering throwing down for, say, a lifetime of movie tickets but want to see the fine details in the business plan just drop a line and we'll send it your way.
