«20+12, une partie de campagne» is a photography documentary project on France’s 2012 presidential campaign.
''Elections 2007'' - personnal project - 2007
20+12, or 32 portraits of 32 citizens taken during the 32 last days of the French 2012 elections.
''Farha fondation march'' - personnal project- 2011
Each day starting April 5th until May 6th 2012, a different portrait will be posted onto a dedicated website. These presentations will take place as the journey unfolds, through France’s biggest cities and small villages.
''OCCUPY Montreal'' - Personnal project - 2011
Each one of the posts/portraits will contain a picture and text/interview of the subject.
Style will be the same for all portraits. Lighting. Lens. Frame. It is crucial to stay within style specifications to avoid any partisanship tendencies. The project is completely apolitical and will present people of all sensitivities.
''Student protest'' - Personnal project - 2006
Along with the 32 portraits will also be posted coverage on the events surrounding the elections : a day in a polls’ office, at the centre of a manifestation, a party’s congress... The idea is to meet up with citizens, measure the pulse of this presidential election by the humble medium which is the picture camera.
''Occupy Montreal'' - 2011
May 2007, election night. The project is born. Initially I wanted to follow a presidential candidate during the last month of the 2012 elections.

But facing challenges and ethical interrogations (Would I be able to make my own choices? Would anyone but me be leading the way?), I decided to turn around the whole thing : instead of simply looking at the candidate, I would look at the citizens. More often than enough, I had the feeling the average citizen was politically left out, as an annoying third wheel.
This is how the idea of venturing throughout the country and it’s population was born.

What are the funds for?
Funding will be used to cover travel expenses throughout the country, including food.
TRAVEL
Travelling within the French territory will depend on the events and happenings of the various political parties, which will also facilitate encounters with people of different political horizons. This being said, a minimum of ten stops are planned ahead : Paris, Lille, Strasbourg, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Nantes, Montpellier, Rennes, Reims.
The itinerary will not be limited to France’s greatest cities, therefore the previous names are only cited to give a global idea. The schedule and general planing will be adapted to the possibilities.
I count on travelling by train and by car, when necessary in less reachable areas.
Estimate expenses : $1,100.00 (SNCF-TRAIN)
FOOD
I’m hoping to be able to benefit to a maximum from my family and friend’s generosity, but throughout the total duration of the project I will of course have to feed myself from time to time! I count on completing my budget with the money I have saved for this project.

About the project owner
Photograph, I do portraits, documentaries and also various promotional supports for the artistic scene (theatre posters, book covers).
A trained cameraman, I worked a few years as a freelance on institutional movies and documentaries. Since I’ve relocated to Montreal in 2009, I’ve decided to concentrate on my true passion : photography. For three years now, I’ve been working hard to live off this passion. At the moment it is partially possible, and projects are growing in number and variety, confirming my desire to follow this path.
I am 28-years-old and am carrying this project since the 2007 elections. It is close to my heart as it gathers my passion and subjects that matter to me. As a citizen, society and politics are topics I am very passionate about. With the photographic art, I have the chance to live this experience, for me as much an artistic then a citizen one.
